Tras muchas jornadas de viaje, #LaGranAventura llega a su fin. Quedaba ponerle término con la toma de Marrakech, en una etapa libre para los participantes a través de la Ruta de las Kasbas. La Organización, madrugaba para atravesar el famoso puerto del Tich´ka y tenerlo todo preparado para la llegada de los Land Rover Santana y Series.
Los participantes, que aunque no han dejado de navegar por pista, arena y roca parecen querer más, se lo tomaban con mucha más calma, disfrutando de las maravillosas vistas de este sistema montañoso y visitando la turística Aït-BenHaddou. José Miguel y Susan rompían en el punto más alto el radiador de su 88 Ligero. Aunque igualmente conseguían llegar rellanándolo de agua cada poco. En la media tarde llegaba el último de ellos a la puerta del Hotel Tich´ka; excepto Mitchel Guinet y Yannick Le Bref y Laurence ausentes con su 88 inglés, averiado ayer, que necesitarán un poco más de tiempo en taller.
La ceremonia de clausura arrancaba a media tarde dentro de uno de los jardines del hotel. Acompañados por sus inseparables bestias junto con las que han devorado los miles de kilómetros estos días, les llegaba la ansiada y reñida clasificación. También el momento de conocer el resultado de su propia votación secreta y la entrega de premios. Así, el ‘Mayor Espíritu de equipo’ premiado con un equipo de rescate –High Lift y eslinga- de Homologaciones 4x4 y un vale de 250 euros de Euro4x4Parts recaía en la pareja murciana de Pepe Dipe y José María Hernández y su Santana 119, dorsal número #33. Por otro lado, Pipo y Philippe –Overland Project, #32 - se coronaban como los mejores navegantes de esta edición 2017, y se llevarán de vuelta a Valencia la tablet Android que patrocina Tombuctu 4x4. Los discos de freno restaurados de Green&Gold de Alejandro Aguilera –patrocinador y participante-, premio al ‘Mejor Coche Restaurado’, era para el Land Rover Series de los galos Laurence y Jean-François Bour, #29, que afirmaban que participarán también en la próxima edición.
Santana Trophy ha acabado entre las risas y la alegría de alcanzar la meta y el reconocimiento por el gran esfuerzo de participantes y organización. Solo queda volver a Europa. Lo harán por ellos mismos, con la certeza de que todo fin, no es si no, el comienzo de algo nuevo, que vendrá, tras un año más, del 7 al 13 de abril de 2018.
Santana Trophy explorará y reconocerá nuevas rutas para nuevos y viejos incondicionales de estos duros clásicos, ofreciéndoles más navegación, más pruebas de orientación y trabajando para acercar más hasta este raid el espíritu de esas antiguas pruebas de motor que tanto han hecho soñar a todos los aficionados del ‘fuera de pista’.
STAGE SEVEN. OUARZAZATE – MARRAKECH. TAKING THE RED CITY BY STORM.

The closing ceremony begins at mid-afternoon at one of the hotel’s gardens. Accompanied by the beasts with which they’ve devoured thousands of kilometres these past days, the teams anxiously wait for the final classification and the award they vote personally, as well as the prize ceremony. The “Best Team Spirit” award comprises a rescue kit –High Lift and a towing rope- from Homologaciones 4x4 and a 250€ voucher for Euro4x4Parts, and was awarded to Pepe Dipe, José María Hernández and their Santana 119, #33. Pipo and Philippe –Overland Project, #32- win as best navigators of this 2017 edition, and will take back home to Valencia the Android tablet donated by Tombuctu 4x4. The ‘Best Restored Car’ prize consists of a set of disc brakes restored by Alejandro Aguilera’s –sponsor and participant- Green&Gold garage, and it was awarded to Lauren and Jean-François Bour, #29, who assure they will be participating in next year’s edition.
Santana Trophy has ended among laughs and the happiness of reaching the goal, and the recognition of the great effort made by the teams and the Organization. The only thing left is to return to Europe. They will do this on their own, with the certainty that every ending is only the beginning of something new, that will come from the 7th to the 13th of April of 2018.
Santana Trophy will explore new routes for the unconditional -new and old- enthusiasts of these tough classics, offering them more navigation, more orientation and working even harder to bring them the spirit of the old motor raids that have driven the dreams of so many off-road fans.

After many days of travel, #TheGreatAdventure comes to an end. The last stage, arriving in Marrakesh, takes the teams through the Kasba Route. The Organization starts off early to traverse the Tich’ka mountain port and organize everything for the final arrival of the Land Rover Santana and Series.
The participants, who have done most of the navigation during the trip on off-the-road sand and rock tracks but who seem to want even more, take to the route calmly, enjoying the great views of this mountain range and visiting the touristic Aït-BenHaddou. José Miguel and Susan break the radiator of their 88 Ligero at the highest point of the mountain port, but manage to arrive by stopping and refilling it every few kilometres. It’s barely early afternoon when the last of them arrive at the Hotel Tich’ka; except for Michel Guinet, Yannick Le Bref and their English 88, which broke down yesterday and needs some more time at the mechanic.
